driver flex
Question
I recently purchased a new driver, i got the cleveland launcher comp with the aldila 65-regular flex shaft. I love the driver, but i am wondering if i'm getting the most out of it. My swing speed is 105 mph. Previous to this driver my misses always were hooks, now i find myself throwing some slices into the mix. Basically i'm wondering if i should trade this club in for the stiff shaft version of it. (worth the money loss) Thanks

Answer
hello rajeev. and yes... flex shaft does tend to be less accurate. if you are swinging at 105 miles per hour, then its fast enough to make a slight difference. but it deosn't make sense that all of a sudden, you are hitting a slice while you were hitting a hook. this calls for a swing fix. no doubt. if you are hitting a slice but not a fade, then its your swing that deserves the blame. if you are SLIGHTLY fading it, then its the club to blame. by fading, i mean about 5 yards. so are you slicing it? if you are, work on the swing. you can't possibly blame the club for missing the target by 10, 15 or 20 yards.
but my general answer is... its worth the money loss to change the driver. one thing is for sure.... its not going to aggravate your slice. and it is consistent and reliable. so why not? go ahead and do make the change but also make the change in your swing. my guess is that your swing plane is a little too steep. you should try to flatten it out and swing a little shallower.
