Closing the club face
Question
I am a tall (6'3") high handicapper and so have no expectation of hitting a great (or even good) shot evrey time. However i seems to have developed a new fault in my game. When hitting a 3 or 5 wood (i don't use a driver) i have started hitting the ball short(30 feet!) and very left off the tee, straight into the rough. Also with an iron i have either been hitting it the same as the wood or more likely it seems to spin off the club face and travel right at 40 degree angle off into the rough again only a short distance. At first i thought these were unrelated, but i have now noticed that every time this happens that my club face has closed at address. I play with golfers with much lower handicaps that me and they are at a loss to explain it. I wish i could use the standard excuse blame the equipement, but unfortunatley i dont think a new sset of clubs would help!
Please help (a very frustrated golfer!),
