Golf ball manufacturers

Can you tell me how many golf ball manufacturers there are?  There are many brands, but I have been told that world wide they are all made by about 4 manufacturers. True or false?

Sorry, I don't know how many there are. I do know that different companies get their balls made at the same factory which puts on different labels for the different balls.
