bounce
Question
How do I determine how much bounce I need when purchasing a new wedge?
Answer
Hello and thank you for asking. Bounce is not a statistic someone can tell you what to get. It depends on what you want to use the wedge for, the strengths and weaknesses of your game, your handicap, how many wedges you carry, your skill level with that particular club, and your goal for the club and your game of golf. It really is a personal preferance.
I understand that may not be the answer you want, but in general, less bounce means you can hit more creative shots effectively, but you have to be a skilled short game artist to do so... more bounce means there is more forgiveness and your mistakes are not magnified, but may be harder to perform specialty shots. As of the the golf dreictors I know say, less bounce is more like diamond or coal... your shots will be tour quality or a skull. With more bounce, every shot is like bronze.
