Golf club problems
Question
I hit mp60 Mizunos - my clubs are approx. one year old. In the last month I
noticed that my lie needs adjusted after just a few rounds. I bought a forged
iron for the soft feel. I realize that forged irons are a soft alloy. I just sent
the clubs back to Mizuno so they could look at them. Is it possible to have a
metal composition problem? I look forward to your answer. I'm a single digit
handicapper.
Thanks,
Dan
Answer
Dan,
Interesting question. Did you have the lie checked when you first purchased your Mizunos? If you had and then the lie changed as you state, I would think that there could have been a problem with the metal. That's certainly a possibility. Mizuno (being a major player in the industry) will make it right by you if there is a defect.
Being a single digit handicapper, you obviously know how important the lie is. I suggest having your lie checked at the beginning of your golf season each year. Practicing and playing with clubs that fit you increases your ability to play the best golf possible.
Every golfer should have fitted clubs if they can afford it. Serious and casual golfers need to have clubs that are fitted to their particular swing. I started fitting clubs back in 1991, and realized how fitted clubs will have a positive effect for all types of players.
