Questionhi i am 22 and 6 ft 3 and a 8 hdcp. so my question is this: i am a relatively long hitter with my irons, but my distance seems to decrease with my long irons/woods and especially driver. i hit it 150 with my 9i, 165 with 8i... up to about 205-215 with my 4i, and 235-250 with my 5 wood. But with my 3 wood and especially my driver i seem to hit it shorter compared to my other clubs. when im hitting my 3 wood good it maybe goes 265, and when im hitting it good with my driver it only goes abt 280 at best. So this seems a little strange to me, so maybe you can offer an explanation to this without seeimg me hit. If it helps im a pretty athletic person and i have a pretty upright swing and my ballflight it straight( a little draw depending on what day). if there are any tips to driving it farther that would be great as well. thanks
AnswerJeff,
Seems like pretty good distances to me. The average for the PGA tour is 282. But your obviously not satisfied with drives that average 280. Your 3 wood distance is fine. I would suggest experiment with some drivers whether that be from your playing partners, a demo from the golf or go to a demo day in your area. If you need assistance in finding a demo day in your area, drop me an e-mail @
[email protected] and I'll help you find one. The technology has improved significantly over the years. Try different lofts as well. The trend has been to go with a driver with more loft. The best way to know is to experiment with an open mind.
Good luck.
