calaway x20 irons

Question
Hello ken, thanks for reading my question. Which is. I was wondering what i could do to my irons (lie, angle) to feel even more comfortable with them in my hands. I and a 14 handicap and would like to be more accurate with my irons. thanks again

Answer
Hi David,

The lie of your clubs mainly depends on how high your hands hang above the ground. The toe of the club at address should be slightly up in the air because the shaft flexes downwards at impact to make the sole of the club flat against the ground. I suggest you take your clubs to your local pro or club fitting center. One of the things you can do on your own is to put some masking tape on the sole of a club. Swing while standing on a black mat or something that will stain the tape when it brushes the surface. If the tape doesn't get marked near the center of the club, then the lie is not correct.

You could also experiment with the "feel" of your club heads by putting some lead tape on the club head to increase it's swingweight.

Hope this helps.

Best regards, Ken Tannar
