playing wrong ball in 2 man scrambles?
Question
Is there a penalty for one player playing his partner's ball in a two man scrambles format? Both players play from the same location, but player two hit player one's ball instead of his own.
Answer
Jeff,
You would have to consult the tournament organizer / PGA Professional on this one. The USGA does recognize scramble formats.
I have to admit that scrambles are fun to play on occasion and it gets more of the novice golfer involved because of the reduced pressure. If scrambles bring more people to this great game, I'm all for it.
