push/shot shot
Question
i have wrote to you about my ball striking which has improved alot but now i seem to be hitting a lot of push/slice shots more so with the longer clubs wat can i do?
Answer
Hi Ryan:
Same thing. You must check the path the club is swinging into the ball on. A puch is coming too far from the inside. A push slice means the club is coming too far from the inside with an open clubface. So to fix it, the club must be coming in more down the correct line towards the target. So I'll use my clock analogy again. If you picture the flagstick (your target) being 12 o'clock, if you are coming into the ball too far from the inside, you are swinging your club towards 1 or 2 o'clock. The ball would start out to the right of the target. If you push slice, you are swinging towards 1 or 2 o'clock with an open clubface as well. How do you fix that. Swing the club towards 11 o'clock or 12 o'clock (your target) and learn how to square up the clubface. You must check your grip and learn how to rotate the clubface into the back of the ball. Then the ball would start straighter and if the face is square, it will go straighter.
