in course ob
Question
My home course has an in course(parallel holes) out of bounds tree line, marked with white stakes attached to the trees. A guest was playing with us today and hit a ball there on his second shot. He claimed that the out of bounds only applied to the tee shot; that there is no such thing as an "in course" out of bounds. Is he correct? Thank you, Greg Sanidfer
Answer
Greg,
Under Rule 33 it is permissible to have out of bounds between holes on the course for safety reasons.
The ruling came from the Decisions on The Rules of Golf 2008-2009.
Decision 33-2a/12.
