ball contact on club face

Question
What is the cause and solution(s) for ball contact on the club face which is consistently toward the toe of the club-between the sweet spot and toe.  Many thanks for you thoughts.  Gene

Answer
HI Gene,

No one cause. Can't be sure without seeing your swing.

Hitting it on the toe generally indicates you're not standing close enough to the ball. It could also be caused slightly by your swing path.  Is it with all clubs or just your tee shots? It might be you're ball position is too far forward in your stance. The ball position for fairway shots should be about midway between your feet. For tee shots, a  few inches forward of that.

Try just changing your ball position and let me know if that helps. Plus, swing the club next to the side of a box (that has nothing in it). See if you can swing as close to the box as possible trying to nick the box at or just after impact position. If you can't do this and hit the box before impact position, your club head path is likely outside-to-inside as opposed to inside-to-straight-to-inside.

Hope this helps. Please visit and patronize my site, www.probablegolfinstruction.com
