callaway uniflex steel shafts
Question
I recently purchased callaway x20 irons with steel uniflex shafts. My question has do with whether they are stiff enough for me. I came out of hogan apex edge pro with stiff shafts. My swing speed with a driver is ab out 100 mph. The uniflex feel nice enough, I just wonder if I could get more out of a stiffer shaft considering my swing speed. I know the project x are very popular now and am wondering your thoughts
Answer
Geoff,
First of all, Callaway is a very reputable club manufacturer.
Then it's all about the results. Are you hitting consistent shots with these irons? That is the most important aspect of the shafts.
Typically if the shaft is too flexible for your swing, you'll see a higher trajectory and a slight draw to a hook. This is standard, so measure your shots against what I just described and judge for yourself.
Have your local PGA Professional take a look at you while your hitting balls and get his/her opinion.
The next time you purchase a set of golf clubs, make sure that the clubs are custom fit to you. This takes all the guess work out of buying golf clubs and the cost is similar.
Thank you for the question,
