golf tee colors

Question
What skill-levels do  the different tee marker colors designate? I know red
indicates women, and white indicates men, but what about blue? black? gold?
green?

In theory, the lower handicaps would play from the tees that make the course the longest in distance. Typically this would be 0-6 handicaps for example. The next group would play from the next tee up and so on and so on. Courses use different colors for the tee set up. You are correct most courses use red tees for women and white tees for men who are seniors.

By the way, some courses only have two sets of tees which makes that decision that much easier.
