breathing
Question
Hello Eddie: I am curious about breathing in the golf swing. When a person does exercises , you are told usually told to breath out as you do the exercise. I have never heard anyone talk about breathing when executing the golf swing. I am curious. What are your thoughts? thank you
Answer
Hi Jerome:
Getting relaxed before you make a swing is one of the traits of a good ball striker. To me, that means most all of your air would be exhaled right before you swing the club back away from the ball. The swing only takes a second or a second and a half to make, so no big deal. I would say you won't have much air going in or out when you make your golf swing. Shallow breathing patterns work best. If you get nervous, it's hard to control all that. But you can work on it. Deep breaths are needed if you get nervous, otherwise, you won't notice your breathing too much.
