QuestionQUESTION: well, puchased the medicus. and it showed right away that my club face was pointing to the sky at the top and a bit laid off - or left of my ideal parallel to target line- any suggestions? it doesnt hinge when my swing feels more upright, but ive been fighting that steep path too -- help
ANSWER: It sounds to me like you're trying for the flat left wrist at the top of the swing. That should only happen if the back of the left hand is parallel to the club face and perpendicular to the target line at address.
It also sounds like your posture is too upright. If you bent more from the hips (so that your shoulders are over the balls of the feet)and only flex the knees enough to unlock them, you'd have an easier time with the Medicus.

I'm assuming your grip is on the strong side if it's approaching flat at the top and the club face is closed or pointing at the sky. I'm of the opinion that barring any physical limitations regarding strength, one's leading hand (the left if you play right-handed)should be positioned so that the V formed by thumb and index finger points between your chin and left ear. And like I said, doing that along with changing your posture will make it much easier to put the club in a position over your right shoulder that won't be too upright or laid off.
You'll have to give it some time to get used to the changes, so have some patience and you'll see the benefits fairly soon. I've attached some photos of people you'll recognize and it should convince you of the wisdom in changing your posture.
Good luck!!
