3 wood shaft flex question
Question
Hello, I am looking for some advice on the right flex for a tour edge exotics XCGV 3 wood that I contemplating buying. I play with a stiff aldila nv in my ping g5 driver, and that suits me. However, all my other hybrid clubs are regular flex. My driver swing speed typically is between 92-95 and I have been told I have a fluid swing. One thing to note is that I will need to add .50 inches to the length of the 3 wood due to my height. I am really torn between stiff or regular. I am 36 years old and based on the price of this club, I will want to keep it for years to come. That being said, should I favor a regular flex knowing I will become less flexible with age? If it matters, I play to a 7 handicap. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
Answer
Kevin,
I will tell you that I am a huge proponent of testing clubs out before a purchase. Try to get demos of the tour edge exotics XCGV 3 wood from the local representative if possible. Get the 3 wood in both shaft flexes and take them to the range and hopefully on the golf course. See which flex suits you the best. Remember to fit the golf club to you and not the other way around.
Your local PGA Professional should be able to get you in contact with the rep.
Let me know if I can help in the future.
