chip or pitch
Question
Hi Dathaeus: I want to know how to get chip or pitch shots to check up after a couple bounces. Is there a drill for this tupe of shot? Thank you
Answer
Hello there and you for asking. There is no specific drill for that shot... it is basically hitting the chip cleanly with an accelerating stroke on a slightly descending blow... of course the ball will never check the way you want it to unless you are playing a soft ball in very good condition with a wedge that has clean and new grooves... also remember it is harder to check and spin balls the less distance you have to hit them... think about it, less distance, less speed, less total acceleration through the ball, less spin.
