Tour Model II Irons
Question
QUESTION: I was just curious, I received some Tour Model II Irons a
few years back as a gift. They were already a few years old
and I was just curious as to what years these clubs were
manufactured? Just wondering how old my clubs were and how
outdated I am to see how much the technology has changed.
Thank you very much!
ANSWER: Hey Josh,
The Tour Model II irons are pretty old, as far as club technology goes. They would most likely have been from sometime in the late 80's or early 90's. If I remember correctlly they were supposed to be a knockoff of the Ping Eye 2 clubs, although they really looked nothing like them. The technology has changed quite a bit. The clubheads are bigger now, with larger sweet spots and lower centers of gravity. All designed of course to make you hit the ball straighter.
Hope this helps.

QUESTION: Do you happen to know what the approximate value of a set
(3-pw, white dots) with a Titleist 975D Driver would be?
After receiving your advice I bought me some new Nike
Irons, and need to sell these but I have no idea what to
sell these for.
Answer
I'm not sure on a value, although I'm pretty certain that the 975D driver is significantly more valuable than the irons. The driver's not going to bring you that much money either. You can go to PGA.com and they have a value guide. The tour model II's won't be on there most likely, but you might find a value for the driver. I'd add 25 bucks to the value of the driver and sell it all for that. The irons aren't going to be worth much at all, unfortunately.
Good luck.
