aiming
Question
When I aim my club face down the target line, I feel more comfortable using just my left hand on the club ( I'm right-handed ). Is this OK, or should I work at using just my right hand, or both hands ? Is it the same advice for pitches, chips, and even putts ?
Answer
Hello Nei:
I would suggest the right hand. Reason being when you use your right hand to set the clubhead down behind the ball, your stance and your body are still open to the target. You never want to block your vision to the target. Most Tour players use their right hand before putting their left hand on to take their grip. This allows them to "walk into their setup", while looking at the target. What I notice when golfers use their left hand is they tend to close themselves off to the target, the front shoulder is out in front of the right one, and they tend to line up to the right. I would then make it your routine for all shots.
