graphite shaft

Question
Based on launch monitor tests, I have been advised that I am a "tweener", (bewteen stiff and regular flex), with a swing speed between 95-100mph. It has been recommended that I get a stiff shaft, at least 65 grams, with a low kickpoint as I have a launch angle of 9.6 and a spin rate of 4000...Do you agree? If not, what are your recommendations for a specific shaft?

Hi and thank you for asking... as stated in my profile, I do not follow specific models or brands of equipment too much... that is a better question for a club maker or a club fitter... however in general terms, swing speed does not tell everything about what equipment you need... it is swing speed plus swing style... ie, Ernie and Camilo may have the same clubhead speed at impact, but there is not way they can use the same equipment... Camilo swing with a much harder acceleration than Ernie... the length of their swing tells all, basic physics, distance, time and velocity coupled with F=ma.

It also depends on your average well struck ball flight.... do u hit high? Low?  Draw, slice?  What about your irons?

I know this is a lot more than you wanted, but you need to realize that if you want the right equipment, you either have enough money to try 30 different clubheads+shaft combos until you find what u like... or u can go to a good clubfitter and get it all done right there, leaving nothing to chance. Not sure though, why they would want u to get a stiff shaft with low kickpoint when u are a tweener... low kickpoints are designed for players of higher clubhead speeds... you would need a high kickpoint unless they are trying to change your ball flight.

The only thing for sure is your RPM of 4000 is way to high for optimum distance... u need ot try to get it around 3000 or lower.
