Golfing with glasses
Question
Hi
I am short sighted and wear single vision glasses. When playing golf I constantly have to push them back up my nose, and when I'm sweating they don't stay up. I'm struggling with my ball striking(from thinning shots to massive divots), and I'm wondering if this varying distance of my glasses from my eyes could affect the focal point, the ball. Would contact lenses or laser eye treatment help with this or should I persevere with my glasses. Thank You!
Answer
I wear glasses myself and my vision is terrible without them. I do, however, have contacts as well. I notice a big difference in trying to play in glasses versus contacts due to the "shrinking" of the size of things the glasses have. I am sure that the glasses sliding up and down on the nose is not only an annoyance, but also a hindrance if only a little. One of the other things that contacts due is make the hole look bigger! That has to be a plus for putting confidence.
I would highly recommend contacts or the laser treatment if your more daring, but as a cheap solution to the slipping, you could get a sports strap for your glasses.
