Broke a record for par quantity

Question
QUESTION: I had 6 pars in 9 holes last Friday.  Was +2 at the 8th hole (unfortunately, I hit a tree and ended up with a double; however, I got my usual par on #9).

Discovered another bang for the buck - found a $25 putter at my local military PX that actually works better than the Odyssey White Hot putters that cost 5 times as much.  It proved itself last Friday.

ANSWER: Sounds good Lou; eliminate the double and you'll be hovering around par regularly.  As for the putter, if it fits the eye, price doesn't matter.

QUESTION: The Pinemeadow (www.pinemeadowgolf.com) Excel Strong hybrids have been a key ingredient in my middle game.  I just recently got a 31 deg hybrid since I liked the 35 so much.  Not only is it easy to hit off the tightest lies and lands soft, it gets some rather sinful distance for a 6 iron (I'm getting about 170-175 yards out of it). 50 bucks a pop (56 with the grip I selected).

Another key to lowering my score is I use the 5 wood a lot off the tee (National City has some pretty narrow fairways).  I can swing away with it and my distance is between 200-220 on a consistent basis.  I hit the driver OK (and a Ping G2 is probably about the easiest to hit in drivers) but I don't tend to swing as hard as with the 5 wood.

My wedge game has been pretty vicious (and NC is the place to sharpen one's wedge game since the par 4s are between 270-300).

Answer
Lou:  I'll look into the Excels.  I'm using only 2 at present; a 17 and 19 degree.  Been thinking of replacing the 4 iron but haven't as yet because here in Florida and the wind, I hate to give up the club I can hit low when needed.

Thanks for the update,

John
