Practice Plan Inquiry

Question
I've read over a couple of your answers, and there seems to be a fair amount of responses on a practice schedule sheet, as well as your guidance construcing a long term plan for players aspiring to get to the next level.

I am a 2 handicap who has just gotten back into the game from about a 5 year hiatus.  It's been about a year or so since I started playing again.  Before I stopped playing, I was a pretty good junior player, although I didn't work as hard as I do now (youth is wasted on the young, eh?).  My competitive fire has come back like it never left me, and I am attempting to take my game to the elite amateur level, if not beyond.  My goal for the end of 2010 is to get my handicap down to a +2 or lower.

In any case, I was curious to see if you might be able to send me those practice regimen sheets I've been hearing about, and if you have time, to let me know what you think I would realistically need to achieve to reach that next level.  You seem to be a great person to ask, seeing as you obviously know what takes to get to that level as a player.

Thank you in advance for any help at all!

Answer
Hi Shane:

You need to send me your personal email address and I'll send over the sheets.  It helps to structure your practice sessions and gives you measureable results.  In reference to getting better and seeing how far you can go, you'll need to become a GREAT short game player.  Most people work excessively hard on their swing and dabble with their short game.  Bottom line in this game is this question:  What did you shoot?  No one cares how you did it.  Shooting low scores DEMANDS respect.  Period.  If you can shoot the scores, you get the goods.  If you can't, you don't.  So in your efforts to take your game to the next level, my short game practice sheets have helped many people structure their practice sessions.  I will give you my suggestions when I send them to you.  Thanks.
