hybrids
Question
my shots with a hybrid club are almost always a line drive type...with no trajectory. can you help me get some trajectory on this type of shot in relationship to ball and hand position which i feel are the contributing factors as to why i can get the ball up in the air as well as any other suggestions? thank you
Answer
Hi there and thank you for asking.
No matter what club you use, hitting the ball higher has to do with these factors:
1. Club face loft
2. Club head speed/spin rate
3. Angle of attack/shaft type
4. Fade or draw flight
5. Club's center of gravity
6. type of ball (very minimal)
Getting the hands ahead is basically delofting the club... this can also produce a higher spin rate.
So with the above tips, use a higher lofted club with lower center of gravity, and increase the clubhead speed with a flat or even slightly rising (much higher difficulty, not recommended for about 5 handicappers) angle of attack.
