Changed Irons

Question
hello Ken,
i recently changed my irons from McGregor Tourneys to the new Taylormade R9 Irons. The McGregor's were regular flex steel shaft and the new TM R9's are stiff steel shafts. I got a good deal on these and they felt good in the driving bay. I play off 13 Handicap.
Since purchasing the new irons, all of my shots seem to be going to to the right. I have played 3 rounds and i cannot fix this. Usually i would be hitting the green regularly from 180-200m out but now i'm landing to the right. Can you let me know why this is the case or what i should be adjusting. I do not want to have to allign myself to the left of the green in order hit the middle of it. Also, the ball flight is going dead straight, no hook or fade.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,

Firstly, ensure you are aligning properly. This was one of the topics of my latest newsletter:
http://probablegolfinstruction.com/PGINewsletter/current.htm

The majority of golfers misalign to the right.

It might be that you were pulling shots slightly with your old irons, and now are hitting it straight with your new ones, but are misaligning. Very rarely does one hit the ball dead straight, and solid, to the right or left. It's probably your alignment.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Ken Tannar
