golf club resizing / grip extension
Question
John -
I just purchased a used set of Ping Eye (Maroon) clubs steel shafts 3 - W (2 wedges) for a great price. I am realizing that they are about 1" - 1 1/2" longer than standard shafts. I can choke down a bit, but my finger is slightly lower than the grip. I have yet to
actually hit any balls with them yet.
My question - is there an "extender" product that I can affix below the grip to lengthen it? If not, do you have any thoughts as to what I could use to wrap around the bottom of each grip?
Or...is it possible remove the grips without damaging them (they are in good condition), cut the shafts about 1" and reattach the grips?
Thanks for your help.
Todd
Answer
There is a way to remove the grips and cut them to the correct length however if you are getting them cut to the correct length you might just get the correct grip too. If you got the clubs for a great price then the money put towards them to make better golf is worth the effort and price
