New clubs
Question
Hi,
I am getting ready to purchase my second set of clubs. I owned the same pair for over 12 years. I shoot in the high 90's to low 100's. I need clubs with some forgiveness. I was recommended by someone to purchase the Callaway's x20s, steel shaft, uniflex clubs. Do you have an other recommendations of clubs I should try out?
Answer
Yaz,
There are quite a few forgiving clubs on the market these days. The most important element in choosing the right clubs is twofold. First attend a demo day where you can hit a variety of clubs from reputable manufacturers. This allows you to determine what your eye likes to look at and see what success you have with the different models.
Then go through a fitting so you can have customized clubs that fit you and your swing. Most of the time this is done complimentary at a demo day. Ask your club professional when the next one is scheduled.
Lie angle, shaft length, shaft flex, head design and grip size are the majority of what you'll be fitted for. All of these aspects are important to your success. Take the time and invest in a quality set which should last you a long long time.
Good luck in this endeavor.
