Blues or Whites?
Question
I'm 63 can drive the ball 240 but not often, I'm am not consistent off the tee and will shoot in high 80's from whites about 5900 yds give or take. I play with a friend who is 48, who hits the ball consistently 240-250 and plays the blues in the low 90's and his 80 year old father-in-law who once was a 2, drives consistently 200, great short game and shoots in low 80's from the whites. They want me to play blues. Any suggestions before punches start flying?
Answer
Dick,
Here are three options for you.
1) Stand your ground and continue to play from the whites. Let your friend and his father-in-law play from the blues.
2) Take a lesson from a PGA Professional to help you with your drives and then move to the blues.
3) Tell your friend that you'll play from the blues once in a while if he and his father-in-law play from the whites on occasion.
Hope this helps.
