Long putting

Question
Hello,
I have handicap 6,8 and work hard on my game.
Since few months I loose 1-3 points on long putts.
From distance above 30 feets I almost all the time make 3 putts. I try many things but nothing to do. Up to 30 yards I am 3 feets from the hole, but over 30 feets 5-6 feets in average.
On short putting up to 6 feets I am very good.
What you can advice to me, which training to improve that long putting.
Many thanks

Answer
Hi Chris,
I usually write about golf putting and perhaps I can provide some help. Feeling is the basic tool for long putts. Yes, you have to feel the peculiar conditions of that green, that day, at the right time you are putting. Good technique is worthless if you can抰 predict how moisture, grain, grass length, grass consistency, green slope and wind are influencing green speed. Furthermore, some of these factors change on a daily basis and others on an hourly basis. As you see it抯 impossible to solve your problem here but I抦 sending you some helpful links:

Here you can find my last article 揥hat Is More Important in Golf Putting, Line or Distance??that has something to do with your problem  http://www.puttinglines.com/sample.php

Here you can download my free ebook 揂 Few Secrets About Breaking Putts?that has also some relevant information http://www.puttinglines.com/uploadedfiles/files/a_few_secrets_about_breaking_put

And you can also check around my site and see if there is something else that can be of interest to you. My ebook Golf Putting Lines was written for low hcps, not for beginners. http://www.puttinglines.com
