Swings again
Question
More swings today: I tried feeling like I was taking the
club straight back. This way, I didn't turn my hands open in
the takeaway. I hit draws a LOT, some really bad pull/hooks
though. Maybe about 20 percent were fades. I can't really
control this shot, however. Driver was so crappy - I'm
losing so much power and I'm fading it still. I didn't get
your message till afterwards, so I haven't had the time to
switch my grip to get it more in my fingers vs. palm, so
I'll do that tomorrow. Thanks!

Answer
Hi Jeff:
Thanks for the video. Looks better, but still inside on the takeaway. Make sure to fix your grip. I DID NOT say to put it in your fingers. I said to put it along the base of the fingers. If you put it in your fingers, the tendency is to have too much hand action, thus hooking issues. Once you fix your grip, and your takeaway improves, from the top of the backswing, make sure you start the butt of the club down towards the ball. If you allow the butt end of the club to fall forward towards the ball in your transition from the backswing to the forward swing, you'll hit it much straighter. Again, seek help from a qualified PGA Pro is you need it. You'll need another set of eyes to help you. Stay at it, you have a good golf swing Jeff.
