QuestionQUESTION: Hit first shot into rock area that might have bounced out into playable area but couldn't see it (not OB). Stated hitting PBall just in case I can't find it. Hit provisional into next to tree line but couldn't find. Found 1st ball in shallow water but couldn't play it had to drop. Rest of the hole doesnt mater but hit next shot short of green, next shot on green and 2 putt. what is the score for this hole 6 or 8?

ANSWER: You scored an 8 on the hole.
Had you hit a provisional ball from the tee and found the first ball afterward you could have taken your drop from the water hazard. Once the search ended and the second ball was in play, that's the one that counted toward your score.
Hopefully you eagled the next one.

QUESTION: Need alittle clarification...I think the way I worded it was confusing. I did hit provisional ball from tee but found 1st ball in shallow water. Being that I found 1st ball (which was unplayable water ball)I am allowed to drop and act as if PB never took place or do I still need to include that in my score.

If the events took place as you describe and there was no search done prior to going back to the tee situation then your score should have been 6. There is only so long you can search for a lost ball. Always hit a provisional if there's even the slightest chance the first ball will be either lost or OB.
