270 yards with a 13 deg senior flex draw driver.
Question
QUESTION: 2 weeks ago I played my best game on a 6500 yard course (85 - 42 front, 43 back). Was averaging 240 yards with my drives and hit one 270 yards on #9 (7 wood and 9 iron to the green on a 564 yard par 5).
Also, a month ago I drove a short par 4 (245 yards) for my first ever eagle putt (unfortunately 3 putted - 2 tiered green).
I've had my Burner driver since the beginning of the year. Also have had a Burner 3 wood and 7 wood for about the same time. These are some killer woods! The 7 wood is my golden golf club.
Also have had a Heavenwood 5H since the beginning of the year and it is my 170 club.
Don't know if I mentioned about the 34 deg persimmon hybrid or not. This would be my "Billy Baroo" club. I hit it 160 yards pretty much about 95% carry.
I upgraded my iron setup to Ping Eye 2 Green Dot 6-PW and Vokey Spin Milled c-c 54-11 sand wedge 3 months ago (have had the SM 60-07 and 64-07 since the beginning of the year).
ANSWER: Lou, Nice round! Sounds like you're getting it all put together. Were you fitted for the lie on the green dotted Pings?

QUESTION: A demo day confirmed green dotted. I hit some shots with a G15 yellow dot 7 iron (the one that the static charts say I am supposed to have) and had a small fade. Green dot hit dead straight.
I originally got the 8 and PW on a whim one day at Golf Mart. I was really impressed the first time on the golf course so I got the 7 and 9 on e-Bay within a week. Just got the 6 iron last week. They were a bit longer than standard so I cut the shafts (the 9 iron is 36" now and the 6 iron is 37.5") and installed Winn Excel RF midsize grips to maintain the swingweight at D0. They are still about 1/2 degree upright (but then again, the classic irons are 1/2 degree more upright than the modern irons). In the middle of the grip I get my best straight distance. When I choke all the way down I can still hit it dead straight and not be off balance (and shave off 20 yards with a full shot). I COULD send them to Ping and have them flattened 1/2 degree or shorten the shaft another 1/2 inch (the latter would have them the same length as my old irons but I would have to use Winn Lite grips to maintain the swingweight); however, my 8-PW are doing a bang-up job of putting the ball on target (I haven't been using the 6 or 7 that much because I haven't had too many approach shots between 140-150 yards and I am a bit spoiled with the 34 hybrid).
Answer
I too have a very light driver that requires the Winn lite grip and can't wait for another company to come out with one as the Winn grip is probably the worst grip to have on your clubs if it's damp out or they get the least bit wet. Playing in Florida and not using a glove, I have a hard time keeping the grip from going slick. And trying to wipe and dry the thing while playing; it takes the thing 3 or 4 holes to dry completely to the point it's no longer slick.
