Hole in One
Question
The ball comes to rest against the flagstick but still above the hole. The player bends the flagstick in order to have the ball drop into the hole before lifting and removing the flag. Is it an ace or has he influenced the ball by bending the pin and allowing the ball to fall. Otherwise lifting the pin out may cause the ball to remain in play.
Answer
Shawn,
Here's your answer.......
17-4. Ball Resting Against Flagstick
When a player's ball rests against the flagstick in the hole and the ball is not holed, the player or another person authorized by him may move or remove the flagstick, and if the ball falls into the hole, the player is deemed to have holed out with his last stroke; otherwise, the ball, if moved, must be placed on the lip of the hole, without penalty.
Thanks for the question,
