Question
what is the difference between white and red stake hazards?
Answer
Frank,
White stakes are typically out of bounds stakes and just for a side note the stakes themselves are out of bounds.
Red stakes indicate a lateral water hazard which means the hazard is parallel to the fairway.
Yellow stakes indicate a water hazard which means the hazard is between the tee box and the green.
Check your rule book for the options you have for the lateral water hazard and the water hazard.
Thanks,
Michael
