Answer
Hi Dennis:

Have you tried a 6 or 7 degree driver?  I know some good players who reach your speeds who had the same issues.  I am assuming you are a good player so it sounds like your equipment is OK.  Check into a 6 or 7 degree lofted driver (maybe specially ordered for you) and see if you can't hit it to see what happens.  If it isn't your club, then it will be incorrect hand action through the impact area.  If you are adding loft through impact, that would cause a higher ball flight as well.  The tip here to check is if you wear a glove, make sure the logo on the back of the glove is turning over (towards the ground) through the impact area.  I see a lot of players let the back of their left hand cave inward which keeps the logo facing upward.  If that happens, your right hand has no choice but to work under which causes the extra loft.  And as fast as you swing it, you won't be able to "feel" the difference.  Just know how to take the loft off through impact and you'll be alright.  It's a gradual rotation of the back of the left hand (logo) and the knuckles of the left hand turning over towards the ground.  Best of luck, start by seeing if you can get your hands on a less lofted driver.  That may be all you need.
