Changing my swing - 1 or 2 plane or even stack and tilt?
Question
Hi,
I'm a mad keen golfer, and practice quite alot but i've currently hit a plato and haven't improved at all in the last year. I play off 7. I've always tinkered with my swing but only with trying to change small individual parts such as higher takeaway or more shoulder turn but until recently i've never looked at the type of swing i have and whether it is right for me. I've watched a few videos of my swing from both a few years ago and from recent and unbeknown to me i've change from 1 plane to 2 plane. I've asked my golf pro who gives me lessons and he says he prefers the 2 plane swing.
I now swing very high etc, where as i was very flat before.
On the range i have recently tried swinging both ways and both feel ok. I even tried abit of stack and tilt after reading up on it and that seemed to work well quickly also.
So basically how should i decide which is the best swing for me, as i don't want to ruin my game going down the wrong path.
Thanks

Hi Dan:
Good question. Certainly I cannot tell you which one is right for you, however, I would get with your golf pro and ask him which one he thinks might work best for you. If he has worked with you for some time, he should know the shape of the swing that would work best for you. Then, after you pick one, get to work and stick only with that one and master it. Also, in my opinion, if you're a 7, you are a pretty good player. To get over your plateau, your short game needs to improve. Your swing changes will not bring you down to scratch. But you do need to settle your mind on one swing shape or concept and stick with it. But, in the end, to get over your hump, you need to shoot lower scores, and that responsibility will fall to the short game. Best of luck Dan in your search, but please check with your golf pro first and ask him what concept would work best with your swing tendencies now.
