Driver FItting
Question
I hit a used R7 well for about 2 years. My dad had a Burner Draw club in his garage that had an "M" on the shaft which I didn't know at the time was a Senior shaft. He let me borrow it and it sat in my garage for another year. I decided to take it to the course one day and hit it longer and straighter than the R7. My swing speed with a driver was measured at around 107 and the fitter recommended a stiff or ex. stiff shaft. I also typically play a draw so was skeptical to hit a "draw" club. How would it be physically possible for me to hit a senior flex, draw club further and straighter than the other one? I have even tried to hit the neutral burner 11 club with a regular and stiff shaft and haven't been able to get the same results. I keep thinking that if I can hit the club I have that there is another one that would be better.
Answer
Mike,
I would take the Driver to the fitter for a specification. M was a mid firm for the Taylor made folks.
When you have the spec for the driver that works then you can spec your current driver to see if there is a fit.
When going through a fitting your swing is analyzed, Some swing flaws lend themselves to the set up you described.
