Tow Hits
Question
Could toe hits be related to pulling the club in during the down swing? It seems to me that when i am hitting the ball on the sweet spot I am straitening my right arm at or close to impact.
Answer
Hi Jerry,
Sorry for being late but I've been out (holiday time).
This is just an opinion, not any kind of advice. I agree that toe hits can be related to pulling the putter during down swing. But I'd like to know if you use the "screen door stroke" or the "pure in line stroke" to try to better understand what's going on.
What is really surprising is that feel that you straighten you right arm at impact because golfers usually keep the angles between the arms and the forearms unchanged during the putter stroke. I'd bet that you usually pull the putter towards your chest before impact and the result is hitting the ball out of the sweet spot. When you pay attention to that detail you keep the angles in your elbows and you hit the ball on the sweet spot. Am I right or am I wrong?
