CAn salt water pools be harmful to dogs?

Saltwater pools can be harmful to your dogs. While saltwater pools are less contaminated with bacteria and viruses compared to freshwater pools, the high concentration of salt can still be a problem.

Excessive salt intake can cause a dog to experience health issues, such as:

-Excessive thirst

-Sodium ion poisoning (manifesting as vomiting, diarrhea, depression, tremors, and seizures)

-Staining of the fur

-Skin and feet irritation

If you have a saltwater pool, here are some ways to keep your dog safe:

-Ensure they won't have any direct access to the pool

-Rinse your dog off with freshwater after they have used the pool

-Provide your dog with fresh, clean water at all times
