What do salt water scup fish eat?

Scup, also known as porgies, are omnivorous fish that feed on a variety of organisms. Their diet includes:

* Small crustaceans, such as shrimp, crabs, and amphipods

* Mollusks, such as clams, mussels, and squid

* Small fish, such as anchovies, silversides, and menhaden

* Marine worms

* Algae

Scup are opportunistic feeders and will consume whatever food is available to them. They typically feed near the bottom of the water column, but may also come to the surface to feed on floating food.

Scup are an important food source for many larger marine predators, such as sharks, tuna, and dolphins.
