Bay Fishing
Question
Hey Capt., I am exploring the idea of opening a small bay/coastal water fishing guide service in Texas. I will only be taking 6 people or less but I am not real sure what type of boat would be best for this venture. Can you offer any advice as far as what type of boat I should look at buying? Thanks for your help!

This is a tough scenario that all of us Charter Captains have to deal with. A Bay boat that will accommodate 6 passengers and still have the room and fishability you need. The proper answer is, the perfect boat does not exist.
However, the best all around 6 person boat I have found in my 15 years of charter fishing that will carry 6 people, float in 12 inches of water, powered with a single 4-stroke outboard and is 27 ft. long.
The boat is built by a small manufacturer in Eastman Georgia. The brand is a "Rambo 27 Custom". There about 9 of them in our area used for charter. It is well built and will run 45 MPH with a single Yamaha 250 4-Stroke outboard. It offers a one level deck, in deck livewell, big console and forward storage boxes. The console has enough room for a freshwater tank and a head. Very unique boat.
The best thing about this boat is it's versatility to fish 6 people in the bay or you can go offshore or off the beaches on days you would not normally go in a regular "Bay" style boat.
I have photos and specs on mine, or you can visit www.rambo27.com.
Thanks for choosing all experts!
