Where does pickerel weed live?

Pickerel weed (Pontederia cordata) is native to North America and can be found in freshwater wetlands, such as marshes, swamps, and ponds. It is commonly found in the eastern and central United States and parts of Canada, but can also be found in some western states. Pickerel weed prefers shallow waters and muddy or sandy substrates. It is a perennial plant that typically grows up to 2-3 feet in height and produces blue or purple flowers from late spring to early fall.
