New Travel Rod
Question
Gary, thanks for your response. I want to clarify that I understand. So, if there is an inch of unfinished rod showing between each of the three joints when they are firmly seated, it's okay? Hence, my rod is three inches longer than expected because of unfinished rod showing between seated sections.

-----Question-----
I just purchased my first rod after a year and a half of convincing friends with extra gear to take me along. It's a beautiful 6 wt TFO Professional Series. The rod comes in four pieces, but when I slide the pieces together, there is nearly an inch gap between each of the four joints.
Is this a normal gap? Or, has Korean manufacturing let me down once again?
-----Answer-----
The bottom of each rod section usually is unfinished - if you don't see any of the unfinished portion of the rod and the sections seem like they are seated firmly, you should be OK.
I Hope this helps,
Gary
Answer
Jonathan,
I wrote a response earlier but it does not appear to have registered so I wanted to re-respond. I believe that the unfinished portion that shows between rod sections is incorrect - I would check with the manufacturer.
I hope this helps,
Gary
