j s sharpe scottie
Question
i was recently given a j s sharpe scottie impregnated 11.5" cane fly fishing rod it is a three piece rod with a spare top section so four pieces in total in a cloth bag its in perfect condition apart from its missing a sticker just above the cork butt which should say impregnated. it was given to me by my mums new husband who is 65 and he said it his fathers rod. im trying to find out its age and value any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer
Hi Nick - A nice rod but quite common. Not particularly desirable at 11.5' either. It does not help that it is missing a label. I'd say it's probably about 25-30 yrs old and worth about $100 to $150 (US $). Maybe just a bit more in the UK. If you fish - keep the rod. They are great casting rods. I hope this helps.
