Fly Rods and reels

Question
I just inherited 2 fly rods. The first is an Eagle Claw "Black Eagle" TM II No. BE300-8ft with reel line size 7 and an ETCO Empire Tackle Co. Inc. with Precision Martin Fishing reel. I am wondering if these are valuble? should they be insured? I definatly plan to continue using them as my Grandfather did. Thanks for your time. Stacy

Answer
Hi Stacy - Sounds like a cool family heirloom you have there.  The Eagle Claw Black Eagle is a graphite rod - probably about 20 yrs old or so.  The Martin reel about the same.  No need to insure either.  The rod is probably worth about $50 and the reel about $35.  Definitely continue to use and enjoy your grandfathers fine fishing gear.  I hope this helps,
Rich
