unusual shakespeare bambbo rod
Question
Knowing that there is relatively little collectors value in Shakespear bamboo rodsI don't expect much. This rod is an 8'6" shakespeare split bamboo rod. It is a 3 piece rod with an additional tip. I would consider it fair to good as it is all original and the finish is still nice and all the guides are in place. The rod does have some bending but it is still quite usable if you wanted. There is no case for it but it comes with a well worn rod bag.The reel seat appears to be made of nickel silver and engraved are 'Shakespeare Beaty pat Aug 24, 1920

Any information and /or value would be appreciated
Answer

To me the most interesting part is the engraving on the reel seat - I don't recognize that at all. Here is what I suggest...go to this website :

Post your rod info there - preferably with photos. There are some very smart Shakespeare guys on there. If you do happen to have a rare valuable Shakespeare rod they can tell you. I hope this helps,
