Granger Bamboo Fly rod

Question
I seem to have an unusual Granger bamboo fly rod that does not have a model name.  Every posted response on any web site I have found has said there is always a model name.  However on this site I saw a similar post from Dennis 1/1/2009 in All Experts that said his did not have a model name.  Also like Dennis's post the wrappings are green.  I have attached pictures.

It is a three piece rod.  There is an extra tip.  All four pieces are equal length, about 36 1/2 inches. The handle says on line 1 PAT PEND, on line 2 MADE BY, line 3 GOODWIN GRANGER COMPANY, and line 4 DENVER.  I cannot find a model name painted on the rod like I have seen in other pictures of Granger rods.
Can the manufacture date be narrowed down?

Is it very valuable or should I just go fishing with it?

Thanks for the work you are doing as an expert.

Answer
Hi Don - Sounds like a lovely rod you have.  It is not uncommon to see earlier Granger rods with nothing "written" on them.  Your rod dates to the 20's or 30's (the PAT PENDING dates it to this era).  It is not a really rare rod but it is popular rod and a good fishing rod.  Condition would factor in to value quite a bit as would having the original tube and sock.  If you really need in depth info on it get Michael Sinclair's book GRANGER RODS: GOODWIN GRANGER THE ROD MAN FROM DENVER.  This book can tell you everything you would want to know about the rod.  If the rod is in excellent shape it could be worth upwards of $400.  At 9' it's not as desirable as the shorter (8'6" and 7'6") rods.  It'll be a very nice rod to fish - that is what I'd do with it if I were you.  I hope this helps.
