Questiondear mac, i have an orvis battenkill rod serial # 55932 7.5 feet, 2 piece extra tip . reel seat is below the cork and the rod is hexagonal in shape. the diameter of the rod is approx. 3/8 " above the handle. it has an aluminium tube and a grey cloth sock.an orvis rep. said it was made 8/29/69 by rod maker ron white. any info on value would be appreciated. i am interested in selling it to a good home thanks mark.

Orvis is an old standard name in fly rods, in business since before the Civil War. I
I assumed you called Orvis - they are still in business. I know from experience that if you ask for value they will put you off, but if you ask for date , maker etc, you will get some historical information- 888-235-9763 and they do charge for appraisals.
