Mannhattens Best Value

I have an antique bamboo fly rod with a wooden handle. It has a sticker just above the handle that I believe reads Manhattans' Best Value on it. It seems to have been a production piece but I cannot find any info on the company.

I have owned it for 23 years and never fished with it. Can you tell me any history about either the rod or the company. I am also interested in finding out the value of the rod. It's in good to very good condition and it's sitting on a rack above my tying bench. I'm wondering if it should possibly go in a display case. I probably could photograph the sticker and rod if necessary.

Hi Peter,

This one could have been made by several companies.  Can you send me a picture of the rod and a closeup of the handle, reel seat and ferrules?  If so, I'll try to determine the original maker.

I would expect the sticker to reflect a local sporting goods store brand rather than the rod maker.
