QuestionI recently found in the garage 2 bamboo rods. One is a Shakespeare model 1120 which is followed by a B or an 8 followed by a 6. I is 8ft 6 in long including the handle. However it is missing the top eyelet or whatever it is called. My father in law used the rod pre world war 2
The other bamboo rod just shows the words Double Built 711 on it and nothing else. I know it would be difficult to identify this rod.
Is it possible to provide me with more information like the age or value on the Shakespeare rod?
Thanks,
Randy
AnswerHi Randy,
Pictures of each rod would help identify them. Send to
[email protected] and I'll review them.
The Double Built rod may be a South Bend-Cross model.
The Shakespeare rod is probably 1120 8'6" and could easily be from the 1930s. Value is likely in the $100-$200 range once you replace the tiptop.
I may be able to do better with the pictures in hand.
Thanks, Joe
